Joanne Irwin, a teacher with Donegal ETB was elected to the top position in the TUI following a ballot of the Union’s 15,000 members.
She received 66% of the vote and will take up Office on 1 July 2016.
Joanne is the first member from the Co. Donegal TUI Branch to have reached this level within TUI.
She thanked everyone in Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim who supported her campaign – members in the ETB schools, community and comprehensive schools and those in LYIT, IT Sligo and St. Angela’s who voted in large numbers to ensure a member from north west received the coveted title of President.
