With work due to start today on the site of a new primary care centre in Ballymote in South Sligo, concern is now being expressed about interference with trees on the site.
Local resident Korina O Hara says there are 11 trees on the site, some of which are 200 years old, and are among the tallest in Ballymote.
She says county councils around the country have been warning people about cutting hedges between April and September.
She says these trees must not be interfered with.
