Businesses feel the impact of cross-border exodus



Local businesses are beginning to feel the effect of consumers travelling across the border to do their shopping.

In the wake of Brexit and the fall in the price of sterling it is believed many people are once again crossing the border from the south to do their shopping in towns such as Enniskillen and Derry.

Donegal Town community chamber member Ernan McGettigan has noticed it happening and believes it’s only the multinational companies that benefit.

The Donegal butcher told Ocean FM that cross border shopping doesn’t help small businesses on either side:
