Donegal’s Amber Barrett is out in front in the race for the Women’s National League golden boot award with one round of games remaining.
The Donegal GAA star scored twice for Peamount United as they beat Wexford Youths 4-3 last night to move second in the table.
Barrett now has 15 goals for the season, two ahead of Shelbourne’s Leanne Kiernan.
Sligo’s Emma Hansberry was also on the mark in that game last night, netting a late free-kick for Youths.
Shelbourne claimed their first title thanks to their 3-1 defeat of UCD Waves last night.
It meant a league and cup double for the Shels this season.
The final round of this year’s shortened league takes place this Sunday before the league switches to a summer soccer season in 2017.
