Sligo County Council will host its annual Cathaoirleach’s Awards ceremony this evening.
It will take place in the council chamber in County Hall in Riverside, starting at 7pm.
Representatives of eight categories will be recognised for their efforts.
They include and individual and a group from the community, a school’s group or class, as well as awards for young enterprise, environment/heritage work, sports, arts and culture, and a Spirit of Sligo Award.
However, Council Cathaoirleach, Fine Gael Councillor Hubert Keaney, says all those who have been nominated are winners:
