There’s good news for motorists travelling on the N16 road near Glenfarne in north Leitrim.
Traffic lights and restrictions which have have been in place for some time will be removed for the Christmas period.
Extensive road realignment works in the area have been going on for 12 months and are expected to finished next spring.
Local Fine Gael Councillor Sean McDermott says the removal of traffic restrictions for Christmas is welcome, as is the progress that is being made on the realignment of the road, which is an important cross-border route.
