Sligo County Council say there is enough capacity in the county to meet the current needs of homeless people.
It comes after 13 people and activists occupied a vacant office premises in Sligo Town on Wednesday night in a move similar to the occupation of Apollo house in Dublin.
The organisers have so far refused to divulge the location of the vacant offices in an attempt to keep them secret.
The local authority confirmed in a statement to Ocean FM that “Sligo county council works with a range of statutory and community organsations in providing homeless services in Sligo.”
The statement also says there is dedicated accomodation to cater for homeless people presenting in Sligo.
