The increase in new car registrations in the North West can only be good news for local business and employment.
That’s according to the Society of the Irish Motor Industry who released new figures which show there was an increase of almost 17% in Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim in 2016.
The figures released by SIMI show that car registrations increased by almost one in five last year in the North West.
Donegal saw the biggest increase of 17.7% with 3,525 new car registrations in 2016 compared to 2,993 in 2015.
In Sligo there was an increase of 17% year on year with 1,319 new cars last year while Leitrim saw an increase of 11.8% from 567 in 2015 to 634.
