Gardai are today continuing to monitor the area around Ballinode in Sligo town as a result of threatening letter left last month in a room at IT Sligo.
The monitoring includes the presence in the area of the Garda armed response unit.
An IT statement said at the time the safety and security of its students is paramount, and all appropriate security arrangements are in place.
It added that the Institute continues to consult with the gardai on a daily basis.
The letter included a claim by a person believed to be a student that he had purchased a gun and would shoot students.
