There’s been good political support for a rally by a group from Sligo to ensure that infrastructure to the North West of Ireland is improved.
The four Sligo Leitrim TDs were among those supporting the Revive North West campaign led by Sligo restauranteur Anthony Gray.
Mr. Gray spoke to Ocean FM News this evening from Dublin stating he was very happy with the political support he received especially a statement read out on behalf of the Transport Minister Shane Ross:
Government TD Tony McLoughlin says that he will continue to highlight the challenges facing the North West.
But he says it is important that this group works alongside other campaigners on the issue especially Bernard Mulherne’s N4 Action group who have been fighting for years to have the Castlebaldwin to Collooney stretch of the N4 upgraded.
He says he will work with other Councils as well to get the best outcome for the North West:
Fianna Fail TD marc MacSharry says it was important to highlight the problems in the North West.
He told says it comes ahead of a number of initiative for rural Ireland:
