The unique cross-border collaboration between Letterkenny and Altnagelvin Hospitals needs to be protected and developed further.
That was the message to Ministers of Health North and South of the border when they met at Altnagelvin hospital yesterday.
The Donegal Action for Cancer Care group was among those who met Minister Simon Harris and Northern Minister Michelle O’Neill.
The Group submitted a letter to each calling for the already established cross-border initiative between the two hospitals to be developed further.
Donegal Fine Gael Minister Joe McHugh echoed their comments saying that we need to ensure that patients from both sides of the border are getting the best care:
