A Fianna Fail senator has described it as ‘an absolute scandal’ the way an insurance company is treating a Sligo man who came to the assistance of a car accident victim in Co. Leitrim recently.
Paul Egan, a HSE employee, gave shelter in his car to an 18-year old woman who was wandering in the middle of the road near Drumshanbo in County Leitrim after her friend’s car crashed into a wall.
However, because of fear the young woman might have spinal injuries, the emergency services cut her out of the car, which involved removal of the roof.
