Brexit is generating a lot of commentary and debate among politicians in the North West.
Earlier today, Fianna Fail TD Charlie McConalogue said he was shocked to learn of the small number of staff from agriculture dealing with the Brexit issue.
He also says the fact that the Brexit consultation committee has only met twice since July is not good enough.
Meanwhile, Sinn Fein TD Pearse Doherty says it’s vital the government ensures that the North gets a special status within the EU as part of the Brexit negotiations.
He has hit out at his constituency colleague Independent TD Thomas Pringle for not supporting this stance and he has accused him of playing ‘wreckless’ politics on an issue of such importance to people in the county:
