The Bank of Ireland in Belleek is to shut it’s doors next month despite the best efforts of the local community to keep it open.
Over seven thousand people signed a petition during a five day protest outside the branch in July including then First Minister Arlene Foster but to no avail.
The bank, with hundreds of customers on both sides of the border, is one of eight across the North shutting its doors.
Bridie Gormley is the president of the Belleek chamber of commerce and speaking to Ocean FM said she believes the petition was never going to make a difference.
