The Tanaiste has failed to give any concrete update on the progress being made on building a new Regional Headquarters for the Gardai in Sligo.
The project is on the government’s capital plan and is part of a nationwide refurbishment programme for garda buildings announced by Ministers Frances Fitzgerald and Simon Harris at the end of 2015.
Fine Gael TD in Sligo Leitrim Tony McLoughlin called for an update on the progress of the project this week.
Tanaiste and Minister for Justice Frances Fitzgerald says the project is a priority for the government and is moving ahead.
However she failed to give any specific information focusing instead on the investment and commitment that she says is ongoing to upgrade Garda equipment and technology:
