Celtic have been confirmed as the eighth and final team to compete in the inaugural Sligo Super Cup at the Showgrounds over the May bank holiday weekend.
The famous Celtic academy will compete in the elite U12 tournament, organised in association with Sligo Rovers and the Sligo/Leitrim Youths League.
Sheffield Wednesday, Linfield, Club Northern Ireland, Dublin & District Schoolboys League (DDSL), North Dublin District League (NDSL), the Mayo League and hosts Sligo/Leitrim are the other teams set to take part.
One of Celtic’s U12 coaches is John McStay, son of legendary Sligo Rovers manager, Willie McStay, who guided the club to an unprecedented treble of trophies in 1994.
Willie and his wife, Mary, will be guests of honour at the tournament.
The draw for the group stages is being hosted by Sligo mayor Marie Casserly, at City Hall this Friday evening, with Ocean FM broadcasting the proceedings live from 6pm.
