People in Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim and Cavan who want to have their say on the future of their areas will have the opportunity to do so this weekend at public consultation meetings on the National Planning Framework.
The Framework will set out plans for the next 25 years, particularly how the State’s population will be catered for.
It will focus on economic development, housing, water servies, transport, communications, energy, health and education.
Public submissions have to be in by next Thursday, March 16th.
A consultation meeting will take place this Saturday in the Bush Hotel in Carrick on Shannon at 3pm.
There will be meetings on Sunday in McGettigan’s Hotel in Letterkenny at 1pm, in The Glasshouse Hotel in Sligo at 4:30pm and in the Farnham Arms Hotel in Cavan at 7:30pm.
Independent Dail Deputy Michael Fitzmaurice tells Ocean FM News why it is important local people attend these consultation meetings.
