Fears of delayed payments for private operators of Bus Eireann Services



As the Bus Eireann strike continues, there are now fears there may be a delay in payments to private operators who do work, such as school runs, for the commercial semi-state bus company.

Bus Eireann has told private school bus operators that all payments will continue to be made but there may be a delay due to the absence of some staff because of the ongoing industrial action.

It’s understood payments due this week may not be in the bank this Friday.

Meanwhile, Independent Dail TD Michael Fitzmaurice says An Post staff are not passing Bus Eireann pickets to deliver invoices.

However, private bus operators such as Aidan Furey of Fureys Coaches in Sligo, are not overly worried, saying it’s not a case of IF they will be paid but WHEN:
