Service on Sligo/Dublin rail line hit by Bus Eireann dispute this morning



Service on the Sligo/Dublin rail line has been hit by industrial action this morning.

Tens of thousands of public transport passengers have been left stranded throughout the country as the Bus Éireann strike has spread to Irish Rail and Dublin Bus.

Pickets by workers from all three CIE firms are now taking place at depots around the country.

Staff are demonstrating solidarity with their Bus Éireann colleagues whose all-out strike over cuts has entered its eight day.

On the Sligo/Dublin rail line, the 5:45am train from Sligo was the last to leave the station; the 7am train did not go out.

There are now no rail services out of Dublin.

All DARTs are cancelled.

There are also cancellations on many Intercity rail routes and Dublin Bus routes around the capital.
