A Sligo Parish is organising a large cleanup of their community.
The local residents of the Mullinabreena/Achonry Parish had noticed a number of areas with large rubbish build up, especially along back roads and felt that they could do something about it.
Sligo County Council has organised high visibility jackets and pickers to be used by people for collecting the rubbish.
There have been a number of clean ups in the region over the last few months.
Michael Coolan, who is the Chairman of the Committee set up for oversee the cleaning, told Ocean FM News that it is very much a community effort.
