The two men who died in the fire in Sligo Town yesterday have been named locally as Sonny, 64, and Sean Harte, 33.
The fire broke out on the first floor apartment and the two men were in the floor above. Six other people were taken to Sligo University Hospital for smoke inhalation.
Sligo, Ballymote and Tubbercurry Fire Brigades attended the scene with a total of 22 personnel.
Gerry O’Malley, the Chief Fire Officer with Sligo County Council, told Ocean FM News what happened.
