There are renewed calls for dog-owners to ensure their animals do not attack sheep.
It follows a number of recent attacks on sheep in North Sligo and parts of Leitrim.
Last week in the Rosses Point area outside Sligo, several lambs and a ram were killed by a black and tan coloured dog about the size of a German Shepherd or slightly smaller.
It was the second time the dog was spotted on the land.
Leitrim man Kevin Comiskey, who’s on the IFA sheep committee, says most people think about dog attacks only around lambing time.
But he points out it’s a problem that causes untold damage at any time:
