As Donegal’s draft county development plan goes out for public consultation, a local councillor has called for greater emphasis to be put on the south of the county and its relationship with Sligo, Leitrim and Fermanagh.
Councillors discussed the county developemnt plan at a special meeting in Lifford this week.
Ballyshannon-based Fine Gael Councillor Barry O Neill proposed that there be more of a focus on links with local authorites in Sligo and Leitrim and with Fermanagh District Omagh Council.
He says these links should cover areas such as infrastructure, health and tourism.
Cllr O Neill said there has been a focus on the north of the county but, speaking to Ocean FM News, he says the south also has many regional links.
