Focus Ireland is marking 10 years in Sligo with a special event tomorrow (Friday) morning at 11am.
The organisation first opened its doors at 69 John Street in Sligo in April 2007.
Last year, the charity reported a 50% increase in the number of people seeking its services.
Tomorrow’s event is called ‘Standing Up To Homelessness’; it’s a stand-up paddle event being held in conjunction with North West Adventure Tours.
Participants will paddle board across Lough Gill and down the Garavogue River in Sligo.
As Roisin McLoughlin of Focus Ireland in Sligo tells Ocean FM, they work not only with people who are homeless but also those who at risk of losing their home.
