The seat left vacant by Fianna Fail’s Sean McEniff is to represent the people of the local electoral area.
That’s according to former Fianna Fail politician in Ballyshannon, Billy Grimes, who says he has been approached to seek a nomination but has yet to make up his mind on whether he will do so.
Two others have confirmed that they will contest the seat which was left vacant following the death of the late Bundoran councillor in April.
The late councillor’s daughter Elizabeth McIntyre said this week that she feels her late father would be disappointed but says she does NOT feel she has a ‘family right’ to the seat:
