The road in Cartron has reopened this morning following an incident involving an electrical pole last night.
Sometime before 9pm yesterday evening, an accident involving a car and an electricity pole in Cartron View, Sligo caused live electrical wires to come in contact with the road. No one was injured in the incident and Gardai arrived on the scene promplty and closed the road.
ESB Networks has confirmed to Ocean FM that a number of residents in Sligo town lost their electrical supply at around 9pm in relation to this incident. Crews worked into the early hours of this morning to restore power to the ten affected residents.
A new pole has been erected in it’s place and power was restored at 5am this morning. ESB would like to apoligise for the inconvenience caused and assures residents that crews worked as quickly and safely as possible to restore power.
