Leitrim County Council wants help in finding out the names of landowners who should cut overgrown hedges along roads in the county.
Every year around this time, the issue of overgrown roadside hedges arises — but in some cases, the problem is in establishing who actually owns the hedges.
The issue arose this week when Fine Gael Councillor Sean McDermott asked at a Manorhamilton Municipal District meeting of the council about hedgecutting along the road from Kiltyclogher to Rossinver.
But it was clear the issue is one that concerns councillors in all areas.
Speaking to Ocean FM News, Municipal District Chairman Councillor Frank Dolan says it’s a serious problem.
