Rovers’ wait for first away win goes on after Limerick draw

Sligo Rovers played out just their second scoreless draw of the season after they were left frustrated at the Markets Field against Limerick on Saturday evening.

The Bit O’ Red drew for the tenth time this season, with striker Raffaele Cretaro red-carded in the dying minutes by referee Paul McLaughlin.

The Donegal official also booked four Rovers players in the game, as Gerard Lyttle’s side desperately tried to claim their first away win of the season.

Instead Rovers remain second-from-bottom in the table, having dropped into the relegation zone after wins for rivals St Patrick’s Athletic and Galway United on Friday.

Next up for Rovers is a home game against reigning champions Dundalk at the Showgrounds on Saturday next, July 30, at 7.45pm.
