Glencar/Manorhamilton finally got over the line in a county final for 2017 when claiming the U21 B Championship title at Páirc Seán Mac Diarmada in Carrick-on-Shannon on Saturday.
Padhraic Corrigan’s side were 1-13 to 1-8 winners against St Francis – an amalgamation of the Ballinaglera and Allen Gaels clubs – in the final.
An even opening quarter saw St Francis go close to netting when they hit the post with a goal chance, before Glencar/Manor got on top.
Oisin Keaney finished to the net late in the opening half to push his side into what looked like an insurmountable ten-point advantage, 1-9 to 0-2.
But St Francis battled back in the second period, and claimed a goal of their own just after the restart to get right back in the game.
But Glencar/Manor deservedly saw the game out to lift the trophy.
