Refurbishment works at Sligo Town Garda Station must be made a priority by the Government.
Gardai at the Pearse Road Station staged a walkout yesterday and they said they’ll not return to the premises unless working conditions are improved.
101 officers based in the building say it’s overcrowded and unsafe.
Yesterday funding was announced for refurbishment works for a Garda Station in Co Donegal, and Sligo/Leitrim TD Marc McSharry says government money is obviously available and Sligo Garda Station must be given priority:
