Sporting clubs in the North West are to receive over €1 million in Government funding.
Almost 50 clubs in total will get funding in Sligo, Leitrim and South Donegal.
Over €600,000 is being granted to eighteen sporting clubs in Co Leitrim, with the North Leitrim Community Amenity Association to get €77,000.
€413,000 is to be allocated to twenty-five sporting clubs in Co Sligo. Sligo Rugby Club are the biggest beneficaries in the county, they'll get €78,000 for the redevelopment of the clubhouse.

In South Donegal four sporting clubs are to get €138,000, with Aodh Ruadh in Ballyshannon to get almost €100,000.
Local Independent Alliance Councillor in Sligo Marie Casserly says this funding is vital to increase the growing interest in sport and promote healthier lifestyles:
