Leitrim County Council has agreed to waive the development contribution fees for people taking part in a new pilot scheme.
The scheme will test a new sewerage treatment system for one-off housing in rural areas.
It’s after the EU ruled that many septic tanks in Leitrim were not up to standard due to the poor soil quality.
Fianna Fail Councillor Sinead Guckian says waiving the developments fees is a small gesture to ease the costs of trying out this new wastewater system:
