The Irish Powerlifting Federation have announced they will be holding their March Open in Sligo.
The event is being organised in association with Storm Body Fitness in Sligo, and it will be the first time and event like this has been held anywhere in Connacht.
There are longer-term plans to develop a Connacht Open in Sligo to coincide with the existing Leinster, Munster and Belfast Opens.
This event will be a qualifying event for the All-Ireland Championship, and the Junior and Masters Nationals, as well as next year’s and Open Nationals from which the Irish team will be selected to compete on the world stage.
The event is being held in the Southern Hotel on Saturday, March 10, and entry is free for spectators on the day.
