Gardai have carried out a rescue with a difference in Leitrim.
It was after they received a call about a cat that was stranded on the top of a telephone pole near Drumshanbo.
It’s believed the cat was there for a number of days in heavy rain.
Help arrived when gardai on the scene stopped a passing forestry worker and asked for his help.
The Good Samaritan used the hydraulic arm on his forestry truck to carefully place a recently felled tree against the top of the telephone pole.
The cat, seeing its chance, quickly escaped down the tree before making good its escape.
Gardai have thanked the Good Samaritan forestry worker for his help.
