A Sligo/Leitrim TD has called on the Health Minister to step in when it comes to public hospitals recruiting senior staff.
It can take somewhere like Sligo University Hospital almost a year when it comes to recruiting new doctors and senior consultants.
While it can take a voluntary hospital just a couple of months to have new staff in place.
