A Sligo Councillor says he’s calling for his local authority to support repealing the 8th Amendment to the Constitution in support of women’s choices.
Sligo Independent Councillor Gino O Boyle will propose the motion at today’s meeting of county council.
If passed it would mean the council as a body taking a position on a constitutional amendment in relation to abortion before the referendum on May 25th.
Councillor O’Boyle says while three of the four TDs in the region are against the proposals, he wants women to know that local politicians like himself support them:
