Fianna Fail are calling for today’s deadline for applications for the basic payment scheme to be extended for farmers.
This year is the first year in which applications must be made online.
The partys Agriculture spokeperson, Donegal TD Charlie McConalogue, says consideration also needs to be taken of the recent pressures placed on farming families as a result of the fodder crisis.
