Number of voters added to registers in the North West surges



There are more than five and a half thousand new voters registered in the north west ahead of this Friday’s referendum.

And most of those are young people.

The number of people who have registered to vote in County Leitrim has more than trebled, going from 214 in 2015 to 670 this year.

In Counties Donegal and Sligo, the number who have registered have more than doubled, with Donegal going from 1,264 in 2015 to 2,885 this year.

And figures from Sligo County Council to Ocean FM News show there are 1,463 electors on this year’s supplementary register compared to 670 in 2015/2016.
