A Donegal TD is claiming that a hospital ward in the county is lying idle at the same time as the trolley crisis continues.
Sinn Fein Deputy Pearse Doherty says 19 short-stay beds are available in a ward in Letterkenny University Hospital.
But he says the hospital hasn’t the resources to open the ward.
Yesterday, there were 21 people on trolleys in Letterkenny and 16 in Sligo University Hospital.
However, Minister of State at the Department of Health Jim Daly, speaking in the Dail, says it’s not as simple as Deputy Doherty suggests:
