Farmers on Killery mountain on the Sligo Leitrim border are still waiting for confirmation on if they will be paid.
The department has withheld payments for a number of farmers whose land was burnt in the hot weather last summer.
The department claims the land was burnt illegally.
Farmers say with the number of walkers now going through their land it’s impossible to say how these fires started.
