A group campaigning for sustainable rural development is calling for a special cabinet meeting to be held to discuss the latest setback to the rollout of broadband.
It comes after SSE reportedly pulled out of the Enet consortium, the only group still left bidding to deliver the government’s National Broadband Plan
Eir, Vodafone and ESB previously withdrew from the same process earlier this year.
Speaking to Ocean FM News, Seamus Boland, of Irish Rural Link, says broadband was a key feature feature of the government’s 2040 Plan earlier this year.
