The chief superintendent in Sligo/Leitrim says he’s keen to develop a new location for the Garda station in Tubbercurry.
Aidan Glacken was responding to a query from south Sligo Independent Councillor Margaret Gormley at a Joint Policing Committee meeting in Sligo.
Councillor Gormley says the current station is not fit for the modern day needs of the gardai in Tubbercurry.
She has been urging the authorities to use the empty government building next door.
Chief Superintendent Glacken admits that the town deserves a better building but he was not in a position to make any clear commitment yet:
