A Donegal TD is hitting out at the Government for what he describes as its failure to tackle spiralling insurance costs.
Speaking in the Dail, Sinn Fein Deputy Pearse Doherty sharply criticised the Government for not implementing measures to help solve the growing problem of rising insurance premiums.
The party’s finance spokesperson says in Donegal, one business’s premium has gone up from €2,500 in 2017 to €6,500 in 2018 – a 160 per cent increase, without a claim.
Deputy Pearse Doherty is calling on the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and Minister of State at the Department of Finance Michael D’arcy to look at the issue of soaring premiums.
