The Donegal Schoolboys league team are celebrating a memorable Sligo Super Cup title after beating the 2018 winners Dublin District Schoolboys Leauge (DDSL) on penalties in Sunday's dramatic final, played at the Showgrounds.
It was a marvellous achievement by the Donegal lads, who beat Mayo, Derby County and Aberdeen en route to Sunday's final.
The Sligo Super Cup is an elite 9-a-side soccer tournament featuring eight of the promising boys under 12 teams from Ireland and the UK. It is held each year at the Showgrounds - home of Sligo Rovers FC.
In Sunday's final, DDSL dominated much of the game and took the lead, only for Donegal to find an equaliser in the second-half. The sides were still level at 1-1 at the end of extra-time.
In the penalty shoot-out, Johnny McGroarty's side held their nerve to win 3-1 on spot kicks which sparked great celebrations.
