Donegal draw with Kerry at Croke Park

Donegal senior gaelic footballers finished level with Kerry in Sunday’s absorbing All-Ireland quarter-final phase two game at Croke Park, on a final scoreline of Kerry 1-20 Donegal 1-20.

Despite being without a number of regulars, with Neil McGee, Paddy McGrath and Eoghan Bán Gallagher all ruled out through injury, Declan Bonner’s performance produced a gutsy display with team captain Michael Murphy and man-of-the-match Ryan McHugh very influential.

Listen to Ryan’s postmatch interview with Chris McNulty here:

The sides were level on 12 different occasions and there was never more than two points between the teams.

Listen back to how the Ocean FM Sport commentary team of Paddy McGill and Mark McHugh described the closing moments of the game:

Kerry, who were without David Moran for this game, led 0-10 to 0-9 at half–time.

Paul Geaney’s second-half goal looked for a time that it might be a pivotal score, but Donegal hit back with a Michael Murphy penalty a short while later.

The results means both teams are top of Group A on three points each after two games. In the day’s other game, Mayo beat Meath by 2-17 to 0-14.

Donegal now go to Castlebar on Saturday, August 3rd, to play Mayo at 6pm (live on Ocean FM Sport).
