The Sligo ladies gaelic football executive has appointed a three-person interim management team to look after the Sligo intermediate women’s footballers for Sunday’s vital All-Ireland qualifier against Limerick in Tubbercurry.
Kathleen Kane, Ted Maloney and Oliva Flannery-McLoughlin will manage the team for the remainder of the season.
Their appointment follows the departure of joint managers John O’Hara and David Curran from the role.
A meeting of the Sligo LGFA executive was held last Thursday night, following a vote of no-confidence in O’Hara and Curran, which had been taken by the players.
At Thursday night’s, it’s all bar one of the delegates voted to retain the services of O’Hara and Curran.
However, they declined the offer to continue in the management role.
As a result, the interim management team will look after affairs for Sunday’s important qualifier against Limerick. A positive result for Sligo will see them book a place in the All-Ireland quarter-finals.
