A meeting will take place later today (Tuesday) between members of the Sligo Leitrim Northern Counties Railway Group, The Sligo Greenway co-op and officials from transport and tourism.
Recently Leitrim based SLNCR members expressed their dissatisfaction that project was not provided with funding under the most recently announced allocation.
Today’s meeting has been organised by Sligo independent Councillor Marie Casserly.
Speaking earlier to Ocean FM, She says the respective tourism projects when grouped together have huge potential to attract massive numbers to the region.
However she also stressed that the projects will have to be fully compliant with department standards to be successful in securing funding
