€1m in additional LEADER funding has been allocated to Leitrim and Donegal.
A total of €5m additional money is to be given to the top 10 performing Local Action Groups which is decided by the amount of projects they have committed to and how much they have actually drawn down.
This translates to €500,000 for each group which is on top of the existing €220m budget for LEADER.
Co. Donegal ranked 5th and Leitrim at 9th, Sligo however didn’t make the cut coming in at 14th nationally.
Speaking to OceanFM, Leitrim LCDC’s Rural Development Programme Manager, Brian Smyth, says they are delighted with the allocation.
