New buddy beds in Paediatric Dept. of Sligo University Hospital

Sligo University Hospital has welcomed the introduction of 21 new buddy beds to the Peadiatric department after fundraising across the county.

Buddy Beds are designed to convert from chairs to comfortable beds to allow for parents and relatives to stay overnight while their child is being cared for.

Orla McDonagh, Acting Clinical Nurse Manager at the Peadiatric Unit at SUH, says without local community funding, sup[port from the St.Patrick's day parade and donations from families, it would not have been possible to give parents the comfort of being next to their sick child
