Saturday next will be a very special day for the community of Carrick in south Donegal.
At 4pm the official opening will take place of Clós Súgartha Chois Abhainn or Riverside Playground.
Covid-19 restrictions will be in place.
The opening will be a proud achievement for the area as planning for the project only started in January 2019 with construction beginning in mid-October.
It was completed in February, with the delayed opening due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Committee Chairman Seamus McGinley says the playground opening on Saturday will be a ‘big event for Carrick.’
